About the Role

We are looking for a VP of Engineering to lead our technical efforts across iOS, Kotlin, and web platforms, driving innovation in audio recording and data enrichment. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our technology stack, overseeing the development of our flagship iOS application, architecting cutting-edge audio recording systems, and building a scalable web platform.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with expertise across mobile, backend, and audio/video technologies. You will be responsible for growing and inspiring a high-performing engineering team, solving complex technical challenges, and creating exceptional user experiences that define our future.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end technical strategy, spanning iOS development, backend architecture, and web platform optimization.
Product Development: Lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of our iOS app, built with Swift, Objective-C, and C++, and our Kotlin-based audio recording system.
Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and empower a diverse team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance engineering culture.
Technical Roadmap: Define and execute the technical vision to scale our platforms, ensuring performance, reliability, and innovation.
Collaboration: Partner with product, design, and business teams to align technical solutions with customer needs and business objectives.
Innovation in A/V Technology: Stay ahead of trends in audio and video processing, integrating cutting-edge advancements into our offerings.
Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure the delivery of a robust, maintainable codebase.

Required Skills

10+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in technical leadership roles.
Expert-level knowledge in iOS development using Swift, Objective-C, and C++, with a strong portfolio of shipped apps.
Proficiency in Kotlin, particularly with experience building and optimizing audio/video solutions.
Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript for building scalable web platforms.
Deep understanding of audio/video processing, performance optimization, and related technologies.
Startup experience with a proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Strong experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools (e.g., Docker).
Exceptional problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and a results-driven mindset.
Outstanding communication and leadership abilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative team environment.

Nice to Have Skills

Experience with machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) applications in audio or video.
Familiarity with GraphQL and relational database systems like PostgreSQL.
Experience building data enrichment pipelines for audio insights.
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
